Twelve years ago, ER Recruitment began with a simple mission: to connect the right people with the right opportunities while making a positive difference in our wider community. From day one, we set out to be a business with heart, the kind that genuinely cares about every single person we work with, every vacancy we take on, and every ripple of good we can create across the East Midlands.
That ethos hasn’t just survived the years, it’s grown stronger. And now, in September 2025, we’re proudly celebrating our 12th anniversary.
Looking Back
In those early days, it was never about “filling a seat” for a quick win. We built partnerships, not transactions, and many of the clients who trusted us from the start are still with us today. In fact, we’ve been privileged to follow them on their own journeys, supporting them as they’ve grown their businesses, taken on new challenges, and even launched new ventures.

Recruitment, for us, has always been about people. Tech has changed, processes have evolved, and yes, AI is now in the mix, but we’ve never forgotten that behind every CV is a person, a dream, and a story. We’re not afraid of innovation and we’ve embraced it. But the personal touch that defines us remains a non-negotiable.

We’ve worked with emerging talent taking their first career steps to experienced leaders at executive level, and anyone in between.

Some of our favourite placements have been with candidates who weren’t even looking, talented individuals we’ve kept in touch with over the years, waiting for that perfect opportunity to come along. That’s when the magic happens.

- Continued our partnership with the East Midlands Chamber as a Strategic Partner.
- Taken part in conferences and events through Enterprising Women, Generation Next, Women on Boards, Love Business Expo, the Leicestershire Lieutenancy (where our MD is a Lieutenant), and more.
- Supported local charities and causes close to our hearts, including our MD Eileen becoming Patron of the Bodie Hodges Foundation, sponsoring the LAMP Lunchtime with… events, and being a Business Club Member for both Menphys and Big Difference Company.
- Sponsored fantastic awards such as the EMC Leicester Business Awards, Alternative Business Awards, and VAL Awards, as well as supporting inspiring initiatives like the Culture & Communities event.
- Supported emerging talent through our partnerships with local educational institutions including leading the BrightER Futures programme in with De Monfort University.
- Watched our team thrive, achieving some fantastic professional milestones.
- Delivered successful placements for incredible clients across the region and beyond.

Looking Ahead
As we head into year 13, we’re excited to build on our momentum. We’ll continue expanding our expertise in the Executive Recruitment market, strengthening relationships with both clients and candidates, delivering interview training and giving back to our community.
We’re incredibly proud of our team we’ve built, each who bring infectious energy, genuine care, and just a little bit of ER’s signature purple magic to everything they do.
